The Chola Pass trek takes in many iconic places and sights such as Everest Base Camp, Lukla, Tengboche, and fantastic peaks such as Gokyo Ri, this is a very famous and popular trek through Himalaya mountain range and Sherpa country

March; Thursday 8th and Wednesday 28th , April; Wednesday 4th Friday 20th, May; Saturday 5th  and Monday 21st (June July August - rainy season, best to look at treks like Mustang or Dolpa) September; Thursday 6th and Monday 17th, October; Friday 5th and Monday 22nd, November; Wednesday 7th and Saturday 24th, December; Wednesday 5th.

8 clients per guide and assistant guide. Larger groups will have further assistant guides according to their size.

Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu Arrival (1300m). You will be met on arrival by our English speaking guide and taken to your hotel.  We can either brief you about the upcoming trip on arrival at the hotel or later in the evening.

Day 2: Fly to Lukla(2800m). Trek to Phakding (2610m) Short flight from Lukla  followed by about 4 hours of trekking.  A realatively easy trek through Chaurikharka village and descent towards Dudhkoshi Ghat (2,530m/8,300ft). The trail follows the bank of the Dudhkoshi River until Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft), where we will stay for the night to acclimatize.

Day 3: Phakding to Namche (3440m). 10-12 km of trekking, which will take approximetly 6 hours.  Rivers and bridges followed by a tough climb on this stage.  First glimpse of Everest when we reach Namche Bazaar.

Day 4: Acclimatization in Namche. Hike to Khumjung (3970m). Check out the Sherpa museum, shop for trekking stuff or just chill out. On Saturdays there’s a bazaar here. Hike to Khumjung approximately 3-4 hours.

Day 5: Namche to Dole (4200m). Will take around 6 hours.

Day 6: Dole to Machhermo (4470m). Trekking for around 5 hours.

Day 7: Acclimatization in Machhermo. Popular resting pint for trekkers on their way to Everest.  Lies on the Ngozumpa glacier.

Day 8: Machhermo to Gokyo (4790m). Around a 5 hour trek to Goyko Lake

Day 9: Hike to GokyoRi (5360m). Back to guest house. 6 hour trek to Gokyo peak for superb Himalaya views. From here Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt Lhotse 8516m, Mt. Cho Oyu 8201m,Mt. Nuptse 7855m, Mt. Pumori 7161m, Mt. Amadablam 6856m, Mt. Thamserku 6723m, Mt. Kantega 6685m, Mt.Kusum Khagaru 6367m,Mt.Kongde 6011m,Mt.Twache peak 6367m, Mt. Cholaste 6335m can all be viewed.

Day 10: Gokyo to Thangna (4700m).  Around 6 hours of trekking today.

Day 11: Thangna to Dzongla (4830m) via Cho –La(5350m). Around 8 hoours of trekking today.

Day 12: Dzongla to Lobuche (4910m). 5 hours trekking today.

Day 13: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5140m) to EBC (5364m). Back to Gorakshep 15Km of walking today, which will take around 8 hours.  Destination EBC is made today!  It starts relatively easy with the trek to Gorakshep.  The stage to EBC is straighter, uneven, and a tough trek over glacial moraine.  We will pass glaciers such as Khumba Glacier and experience beautiful scenery near the top of the world.  Before sunset we will descend to Gorekshep.

Day 14: Gorakshep to Kalapattar (5545m) to Pheriche (4240m). 13km trekking, will take around 6 hours.  We will rise and walk to Black Rock (Kalapathar) to watch the sunrise over Everest and its neighbouring peaks of Nuptse Nup, Changtse and Lhotse.  Then back to Gorekshep for breakfast and descend to Pheriche.

Day 15: Pheriche to Namche (3440m) via Tyangboche (3860m). 15km of trekking, will take around 8 hours.  Mainly downhill, and relatively easy going compared to the rigours of the previous days.

Day 16: Namche to Lukla (2800m). 16km trekking, around 7 hours.

Day 17: Flight: Lukla to Kathmandu (1300m). Rest or sightseeing. Flight time 35 minutes.  We’ll take you to your hotel and you can decide if you want rest or entertainment. We are happy to do whatever you want.

Option A...Days 17, 18, 19, 20: Nuwakot village stay. Tented accommodation, campfire cooking, experience village life under Himalaya skies. Perfect way to chill out after physical and mental challenge of high altitude trekking.

Option B... Days 17, 18, 19, 20: Sightseeing. We can arrange any day excursion in and around Kathmandu.  Historical and cultural tours can be arranged with our local guides. Rest, relaxation and cultural experience days in Kathmandu. 

  We will take you to the airport and ensure that you leave Nepal safely, with the experience of a life time safe in your heart.
